Meet the team

Summerland Support Services are a registered NDIS provider and community disability support service servicing Casino, Lismore, Kyogle, Evans Head, Yamba, Grafton, Tweed Heads, the Gold Coast and surrounding areas. Our highly trained, empathetic, and compassionate team are here to assist people with physical, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities in our community to live lives of respect, dignity, and independence.

Summerland Support provides round-the-clock care for people of all ages – children, adolescents, and adults, catering to a diverse range of health needs, support requirements, and a balance between independent living and assistance with domestic or everyday tasks.

We also provide Support Coordination, helping participants and carers navigate the system, make informed choices, and get the right level of support they need from the NDIS.

Summerland Support Service is a professional NDIS registered provider, that is family owned and operated by Gail and Patrick Deegan. The Deegans and their close-knit team ensure each participant, carer, or family member are treated like their own family. We get to know and encourage all our participants to understand their individual requirements and what they seek to achieve.

Our team has decades of combined experience in aged care, disability support, independent living support, and allied health. We work to exceed expectations through gaining trust, providing quality outcomes, and maintaining excellence in NDIS, community, and disability support.

our Founders

Gail Deegan

Position

Gail is one of the founders of Summerland Support and has over twenty years’ experience working within community and aged care services. Gail holds a range of qualifications in Community Services, Personal Care Support and Business Administration. Gail has extensive experience in Aged Care, Disability and Youth Work. Gail sets the example for the level of care each participant can expect at Summerland – she gives everyone the same quality of care as if it was a family member.

Patrick Deegan

Position

Co-founder Patrick Deegan holds a Social Science degree and has worked in management positions for the NSW State Government and other Community Service organisations. He has also undertaken a number of front-facing positions assisting participants to best achieve their goals. Along with the rest of the Summerland team, Patrick is committed to providing high-level service that builds the capacity of participants, working alongside them to achieve their dreams, goals and aspirations.

Janel Richards

Position

Janel is a support worker at Summerland and holds a Certificates III & IV in Disability and Aged Care. She finds working at Summerland personally rewarding because she is able to try different things and make a positive impact in participants’ lives. I go home at the end of each day knowing I have made a difference. I pride myself on making a real connection with the participants I work with, ensuring they are listened to and supported in meeting their needs and building their independence.

Debbi Jeffery

Position

Debbi has a NDIS Support role at Summerland and has over 40 years of nursing experience ranging from aged care, acute hospital settings, and community, private, & NSW Health. She also has dementia specific training and holds a qualification in phlebotomy. She wears many hats at Summerland, saying that our clients are complex and beautiful people. She enjoys working at Summerland because she feels engaged and supported by a positive team that consistently rises to meet every challenge.
